Chairman of the National Association for the Egyptian Railways, Hussein Zakaria, announced on Monday that the association will provide alternative transportation through buses as a temporary service for travelers until the drivers' strike ends, reported the Middle East News Agency.

All train routes in Egypt have been brought to a halt due to a drivers’ strike against the transport minister's decision to raise their allowance by 10 percent only.

The independent syndicate for train staff has announced its complete solidarity with the demands of the drivers for better conditions.
