Egypt cabinet convenes on Wednesday

CAIRO, March 20 (Aswat Masriya) Egypt's cabinet convened on Thursday to discuss the latest developments in the security situation, reported the state-owned news agency MENA.

The meeting, headed by interim PM Ibrahim Mahlab, also addressed the projects being implemented according to a set economic stimulus plan.

The cabinet also discussed the necessary measures for securing the upcoming presidential election.

The ministers also talked about the situation in universities in the light of the recent violence that erupted in Cairo and Alexandria following protests by students supporting the Muslim Brotherhood.

Two people were killed and 30 were wounded in clashes across Egypt on Wednesday, according to a health ministry statement.
