Security forces of a Cairo airport thwarted on Saturday an attempt to smuggle military uniforms outside of the country, said army spokesman, Ahmed Ali, on his official Facebook page on Sunday.
Ali explained that airport security confiscated 93 packages carrying uniforms similar to those of Egyptian armed forces at about three tons.
The army spokesman explained that the arrest was conducted upon detective investigations that suggested that a person was trying to smuggle army wear to Libya.
He added that the defendant is being questioned by a prosecutor for violating the law by transferring army wear without permission.
This is the second time that such an attempt was recorded to have taken place. Last Sunday, army forces also thwarted an attempt to smuggle military uniforms through to the Gaza Strip.
