CAIRO, May 7 (Aswat Masriya) Egyptian interim President Adly Mansour inaugurated on Wednesday the second phase of Cairo's new underground line, national television reported.

Egypt has signed a 4.3 billion Egyptian pounds contract with the French National Authority for Tunnels to build this line. The first phase was opened to public in 2012. The second phase began in 2009.

The new line, which was due to be completed in 2013, will be operated through seven air-conditioned and Egypt-manufactured trains, Transportation Minister Ibrahim El-Demery said as reported by a local newspaper.
