"Al-Akhbar" Newspaper Reports Votes' Buying

Egyptian newspaper "Al-Akhbar" reported sale of electoral votes in "Masakin Ain ??Shams" neighborhood, east of Cairo. The daily newspaper quoted a number of voters who said a candidate on "Al-Wafd" party list, bought votes for 20 pounds.

The newspaper added it had spotted supporters of the candidate gathering in front of polling centre of "Om Al-Abtal" School, circling more than one microbus; some were transporting female voters. A man who witnessed the incident said that cars parked until voters get their money.

In addition, "Al-Akhbar" quoted a number of voters saying that vote price is as "cheap as dirt" after the dissolution of the "National Party" whom its candidates  were known of offering up to 500 pounds of for one vote.
