Muslim Brotherhood expressed thanks and appreciation for the precious trust granted by the people of Egypt in the first phase of parliamentary elections. The group praised blood of the martyrs and the injured in the 25 January revolution that paved the way to achieve this result.

In a statement, reported by Middle East News Agency (MENA), the group said "We knee thanking God Almighty for the blessing of freedom, which Egyptian people inhale its breezes. We ask Him to bless the martyrs of our revolution, heal the injured, and compensate their families; as they are the ones who paved the way for us with their precious sacrifice."

"Many thanks go to the people who honored us with trust we hold dear. At the same time we feel its weight and magnitude. We ask God to be worthy of them and to help us to serve our country and our people." The statement added.

Muslim Brotherhood expressed hope that with help of Allah the group would be able cooperate with all sincere to the people and the nation to save the country, and to promote the progress and advancement of our beloved Egypt domestically, regionally and internationally.

The Group thanked all those who contributed to the success of the electoral process management and security.

The statement called on all Egyptians to make second and phases of the elections, the finest and better than the first one, and avoid few negative actions, which marred the previous stage. So that elections are held in a relatively idealistic image to dazzle the world with civilization of the Egyptian People as it was dazzled by their glorious revolution.

The statement confirmed that the Group would respect the People's will and it was satisfied with their choice no matter what "because this is the democracy that we call for and we are committed to."

Muslim Brotherhood called all of those who were described to belong to democracy to respect the will of the People, "those who were unsuccessful this time should try to serve the People in order to enjoy their support next time," stating that they consider political practices as competition to serve the People and not as a struggle for seats and gains.

The Group said that the competition should be governed by honorable principles and ethics in words, statements, attitudes, propaganda, in the media and news.
