CAIRO, Feb 1 (Aswat Masriya) A handmade grenade exploded in al-Omraneya neighborhood in Giza early on Saturday, but no damages or casualties were reported, a security source said.

The source added to the state news agency that a security cordon was imposed in the area as soon as the blast was heard.

Explosions have increased in recent weeks with four bombs going off last Friday killing six people and damaging the Islamic Art Museum in Old Cairo.
