Egypt's Interior Ministry declared a state of alert in preparation for next Friday's demonstrations, which the Muslim Brotherhood called for.

All vacations of officers, conscripts, and security personnel were cancelled and the state of alert was hightened in provinces where mass demonstrations are expected to take place, the Middle East News Agency reported security sources as saying.

This security plan comes as part of standing up to the Brotherhood's attempts to create violence and chaos in the street after two of the Brotherhood's camps were clear out by forces earlier in August, the sources added.

Intelligence bodies successfully located the hideouts of many Brotherhood administrative and executive leaders in various provinces, they stated.

The plan also involves intensifying security measures at vital installations, such as the radio and television state building, the parliament's houses, the cabinet's headquarters, the Central Bank, some main water and power stations, and the Media Production City.
