Cairo, Dec 13 (Aswat Masriya) - Interior Minister Mohamed Ibrahim has ordered the formation of an investigation team to uncover the identity of the perpetrators behind a blast that rocked Ismailia on Thursday.
A locally-made bomb detonated yesterday in front of a central security forces camp on the Cairo-Ismailia desert road, killing one conscript and injuring 18 people including six civilians who were passing by.
The blast was caused by the detonation of large quantities of explosives planted in a car parked 20 metres away from the camp's main gate.
It resulted in a two-metre deep hole below the car and destroyed a 10-metre long fence.
Major General Ibrahim paid a visit to Ismailia to inspect the scene of the blast, the state-owned news agency MENA said.
Ibrahim held meetings with security personnel and officers in Ismailia to raise morale among them.
