Head of Alexandria's criminal investigation unit said that security forces arrested on Friday a number of suspects whom he said belonged to the Muslim Brotherhood.
The suspects were arrested during clashes that broke out today in Alexandria, Major General Nasser al-Abd told Aswat Masriya.
The clashes flared between security forces, Brotherhood members, and Brotherhood opponents in four areas in Alexandria.
Supporters of deposed President Mohamed Mursi clashed with Brotherhood opponents in Mandara, Abu Seliman, Sidi Beshr, and al-Asarfa.
