Egypt condemned the Israeli attack on Syria, calling it a violation of international laws, said a statement by the Egyptian presidency on Sunday.

The presidency said that the strikes would further complicate the situation and threaten the security and stability of the region.

“Egypt rejects any aggression on Syria or tampering with its sovereignty and taking advantage of its internal crisis under any pretext.”

It added that Israel’s aggressions test the commitment of the international community, primarily the United Nations, to the rules of international law.

The presidency said that Egypt calls on all states to take responsibility in confronting Israel’s recurring transgression and maintaining international peace and security.
