An Administrative Court in Alexandria established a legal principle asserting that appeals against the process of votes counting for parties' lists is the jurisdiction of the Court of Cassation.

The court also ruled against jurisdiction over the lawsuits of invalidity of the counting process.

In its ruling the court said that the Court of Cassation is competent to hear claims of invalidity of votes counting for parties' lists, according to Article No. 20 of the Law of the People's Assembly and Article No. 40 of the Constitutional Declaration, the Middle East News Agency (MENA) reported.

A number of candidates of political parties filed lawsuits demanding the nullity of votes counting of lists which were marred by irregularities.
