Egyptian President Mohamed Mursi stressed on Tuesday on the importance of investigating the latest cases of police violations of human rights, said his Spokesman Yasser Ali.

"Post-revolution Egypt will not allow violations", Mursi said in his meeting with the interior minister on Tuesday, adding that preserving the dignity and human rights of the Egyptian people is on his administration's priority list.

Mursi also stressed on the importance of tackling the lack of security in Egypt's streets including ending sexual harassment, said Ali.

The presidential spokesman added that the meeting also addressed reforming Egypt's police system, improving traffic management and enhancing security.

In the meeting, the interior minister presented two reports; one on the latest security developments and another detailed one on developments during the holidays.
