Spiritual Guide of the Muslim Brotherhood Mohamed Badie - Reuters
Cairo’s criminal court excused itself on Tuesday from ruling in the case of Muslim Brotherhood Supreme Guide Mohamed Badie and his deputy, Khairat al-Shater, who are accused of inciting violence.
A prosecutor had referred Badie, Shater and other Brotherhood leaders to criminal court pending investigations into allegations that they encouraged the killing of protesters by the group’s Mokattam headquarters in June.
Violent clashes that erupted on June 30 left at least 12 people killed.
