CAIRO, Aug 8 (Aswat Masriya) - Five workers were killed on Saturday when a boiler exploded inside a starch and glucose factory in Egypt's Qalyubia governorate, northeast of Cairo.
The accident left seven people injured, including a policeman.
The explosion resulted in a fire and 15 firetrucks were dispatched to the scene. Firefighters have contained the fire, preventing its spread to nearby factories and houses.
The families of each of the deceased will be paid 5,000 Egyptian pounds (around $640) in compensation, the governor of Qaliyubia ordered.
At least two dozen people were killed last month in a fire inside a furniture factory, also in Qaliyubia.
