CAIRO, Nov 28 (Aswat Masriya) - An army officer was killed and a conscript was injured Friday morning after unidentified assailants shot them at the Abu Zaabal area in Qalyubia province north of Cairo, Qalyubia security chief said.

Security apparatuses across Egypt raised their state of alert in main cities and squares, in anticipation of Islamist protests scheduled for Friday, calling on people to take to the streets holding Qurans to "impose the Islamic identity".
