CAIRO, Jan 10 (Aswat Masriya) - Supporters of the Muslim Brotherhood torched a police vehicle on Friday in al-Zaytoun, a district in eastern Cairo, the state-run Middle East News Agency said.
The National Coalition for Supporting Legitimacy has urged its supporters to stage week-long rallies starting Friday.
Scores of the Brotherhood members set the vehicle alight while it was parked in a side street, the agency stated.
Security forces then intervened and tear-gassed the protesters to disband them.
Police forces dispersed marches for Brotherhood supporters in Cairo's Mostafa al-Nahhas Street and in Giza's Haram and Omraneya areas.
They also dispersed marches for the group's allies in Shoubra and al-Teraa al-Boulakeya areas after these demonstrators had halted traffic, the Ahram portal reported.
The Brotherhood was recently formally labelled a terrorist organisation.
