MATROUH, May 20 (Aswat Masriya) Egyptian police have received orders to not let Egyptians travel to Libya or let Libyans cross Egyptian borders starting Tuesday until security is restored in the neighboring country.
Libyan authorities have launched intensive military operations, led by Major General Khalifa Haftar, to confront al-Qaeda militias in Tripoli.
Mersa Matrouh Security Director Major Anani Hamouda told Aswat Masriya that maritime traffic between the two countries will proceed normally.
According to an agreement signed in March, Egyptians could travel to Libya on Wednesdays and Thursdays while Libyans could enter Egypt on Sundays and Mondays.
Anani explained that he has coordinated with national security apparatuses to follow up on the situation.
