CAIRO, Feb 13 (Aswat Masriya) - A police officer died of injuries sustained earlier on Friday when an improvised explosive device exploded in Cairo's Ain Shams district, the Interior Ministry said in a statement.
The Health Ministry had said that nine police personnel and a civilian were injured in the blast, state-run MENA reported.
Attacks targeting security forces surged in Egypt, particularly in Sinai, since the army's ouster of Islamist President Mohamed Mursi in July 2013, following mass protests against his rule.
