CAIRO, July 16 (Aswat Masriya) Egypt's cabinet is considering the construction of a new "administrative capital" where ministries are transferred to be on Suez road, Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab said in a press conference on Wednesday.

Mahlab added that this new capital will only be for administration and not a substitute for the main capital.

Cairo is one of the most overpopulated cities in the world, with a population that is expanding to an estimate of 20 million people. The city also suffers high levels of pollution and traffic congestion.
