CAIRO, Sept 1 (Aswat Masriya) - Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi embarked on Thursday a three-day visit to India at the invitation of President Pranab Mukherjee.

During his visit, Sisi is scheduled to meet India’s president, as well as Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Vice President Mohammad Hamid Ansari as well as a number of top Indian officials and businessmen, state news agency MENA said.

The talks will address means of cooperation between both countries as well as promoting mutual ties. The Egyptian and Indian officials will also discuss a number of regional and international issues.

This marks Sisi’s second visit to India as he visited New Delhi in October 2015 to attend the third India Africa Forum Summit, where representatives of 40 African countries discussed possibilities of economic cooperation.

Sisi’s trip to India comes ahead of his visit to China, where he will attend G-20 summit later this week.

The 11th G-20 Summit will be held in Hangzhou, Zhejiang on September 4 and 5. The Egyptian president is set to attend the summit as a guest of honour at the invitation of his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping.
