CAIRO, Jan 31 (Aswat Masriya) - Egypt's Prime Minister Ibrahim Mehleb inaugurated on Saturday a new garage in the vicinity of Tahrir Square in downtown Cairo, established to cater all of the downtown neighbourhood.
The underground four-storey garage is constructed on an area of 20,000 square metres, Cairo's Governor Galal Mostafa al-Sayed said in a cabinet statement. It can accommodate 1700 cars. Attached to it is a special garage for tourist buses; 24 buses can fit into it.
The garage features 21 minibuses which would offer transportation to its users within the area of downtown Cairo.
The governor said the new garage would contribute to improving Tahrir Square's traffic system, as well as the area surrounding it.
Tahrir Square lies in the heart of Cairo, being one of the biggest squares in the city.
