CAIRO, Nov 26 (Aswat Masriya) The Muslim Brotherhood’s Freedom and Justice Party denounced on Tuesday the arrest of Mahmoud el-Khodiery from his Alexandria residence.

Khodiery was the head of the legislative committee of the people's assembly under the Mohamed Mursi administration and also occupied the post of head judge of Alexandria's Judges Club.

Since the army ousted Mursi in July in response to mass demonstrations, many of his aides have been arrested and detained.

"The continuation of this series of abuses and prosecutions of the nation's honorable men proves that the coup's leaders have lost their minds and have been blinded by their lust for power into not accepting their opponents from outside of jail cells and prisons," the FJP said in a statement on Tuesday.

The party accused the government of framing charges against those who are against the coup, insisting that such behavior will only enhance the resistance.

Security forces arrested Khodiery late on Monday.
