CAIRO, April 1 (Aswat Masriya) A police officer suffered a foot injury after being shot with birdshot on Tuesday during clashes with pro-Muslim Brotherhood students outside Ain Shams University, reported al-Ahram portal.

Protesters from "Students against Coup" movement started pelting stones and Molotov cocktail at the security forces after they blocked the road to the defence ministry, the destination of the students' march.

The forces fired teargas bombs at the protesting students who were throwing Molotov Cocktails at them, according to al-Ahram.

Traffic is completely paralyzed in Abbasseya district, where Ain Shams University is located, due to the violent confrontations.

An Interior Ministry plane is flying over the area to monitor the situation, according to satellite channel CBC Extra.

"We will continue, we are not scared," the protesters shouted while carrying banners saying "Down Down with military rule!"
