Egypt's presidential elections committee will look on Tuesday into an appeal, filed by former candidate Ahmed Shafiq, claiming that last year's elections were rigged.
Shafiq's attorney filed the appeal in May and demanded investigating what he called the election's rigging. He also demanded annulling the committee's announcement of the election's outcome.
Attorney Shawqi al-Sayed also demanded urgently considering the appeal, claiming that this is a major national issue.
Former Prime Minister Ahmed Shafiq fled the country days after his loss to President Mohamed Mursi in the first democratic elections Egypt witnessed after the 2011 uprising.
