Prosecutor Mohamed al-Kholi ordered Sheikh Hazem Salah Abu Ismail to be detained for four days pending investigation on charges of falsifying documents to prove his mother did not have American citizenship.

Prosecutor Mohamed Saad interrogated Abu Ismail, who is currently detained at Tora Prison.

Abu Ismail confessed that he is the one who wrote the falsified report given to the High Elections Committee last year.

The four-day detention period of Abu Ismail will begin after his detention on charges of inciting violence during earlier clashes at Giza's Nahda Square ends.
