CAIRO, Aug 24 (Aswat Masriya) - A policeman died on Monday after succumbing to injuries caused by an armed attack on him earlier this month, the Interior Ministry said.
He was on his way to work in Beni Suef, south of Cairo, when unidentified gunmen shot him on August 15.
Bombings and shootings targeting security personnel have surged since the military ouster of Islamist president Mohamed Mursi, following mass protests against his rule.
On August 12, a tourism policeman was killed when armed assailants shot him in Fayoum south of Cairo. He was on his way back from work on a motorcycle when unidentified assailants, also on a motorcycle, shot at him several times.
