Egypt has the fourteenth most powerful army in the world for the year 2013, Global Firepower (GFP), a website displaying data on the world's military powers, has reported.
The Egyptian army has ranked first among the Arab countries with its 468 thousand soldiers, 863 military aircraft and a budget of $4.1 billion for defence.
Sixty-eight countries are currently included in the ranking.
The GFP's final ranking is based on a formula utilizing over 40 different factors to measure each nation's military strength.
According to the website, nuclear capability is not taken into account; the ranking of each nation is strictly based on potential conventional war-making capabilities across land, sea and air while incorporating values related to the logistical, financial and geographical positions.
The United States, Russia, China, India and the United Kingdom topped the list and Israel ranked thirteenth.
