Authorities decided on Wednesday to release a journalist from Fagr newspaper and two minors who were detained on Tuesday during confrontations between protesters and security forces near the Syrian embassy in Cairo, the Arab Network for Human Rights Information (ANHRI) reported.

Qasr Al-Nile police is currently interrogating 11 other instigators who were arrested on Tuesday.

Tens of activists attempted to raid the Syrian embassy in Cairo on Tuesday to raise the revolutionary rebels' flag replacing Syria's national flag which they believe represents Bashar al-Assad's regime, Reuters reported.

A security source said that activists and police forces exchanged rock throwing which led to minor injuries from both sides.
