Egypt's President Mohamed Mursi on Tuesday said that the Higher Elections Commission (HEC) is awaiting any recommendations that today's national dialogue session may produce regarding the integrity of the electoral process.

During the dialogue which is broadcast live on state TV, the president stated that the commission received five requests from foreign bodies including the United Nations, the European Union, and the Carter Center to monitor the elections, adding that they were all approved.

The president reaffirmed his promise to have the coming parliament review several articles from the constitution and discuss the possibility of amending them.

Mursi described the dialogue's attendees as being representative of most political spectra in Egypt, adding that the opportunity is still there for those who want to join.

The oppositionist National Salvation Front (NFS) alongside 59 other public figures declared their intention to boycott the dialogue.
