CAIRO, Dec 27 (Aswat Masriya) - Egypt's Defence Minister Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah al-Sisi has allocated a military aircraft for transporting urgent humanitarian aid to South Sudan.

The United Nations estimates that around 92,500 people were displaced during the ongoing fight between supporters of South Sudanese President Salva Kiir Mayardit and supporters of his opponent Riek Machar, the country’s former vice president.

The fight that started 12 days ago is the biggest in the country since its independence in 2011.

The aircraft, which took off on Friday morning, carried eight tons of food and medical aid to South Sudan to help its people amid the current crisis.
