Former Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Mohamed ElBaradei - Reuters
Nobel Laureate and member of Egypt’s main opposition group, Mohamed ElBaradei, said on Tuesday that the government's inability to manage is behind the failures, not its affiliation.
“The tragedy of Egypt is not the affiliation of its rulers, but their lack of ability to manage the country; state pillars are crumpling, failure is on the rise and the people are the victims. Egypt kneels down every day,” the former director of the International Atomic Energy Agency posted on his Twitter account in light of a tragic accident that occurred overnight.
A train traveling from Upper Egypt to Cairo derailed on Tuesday morning, killing 19 conscripts and injuring 107, in yet another traffic tragedy.
In a similar incident, 50 people, mostly children, were killed when a school bus crashed into a train in a city South of Cairo in November.
