Egypt's Minister of Interior Mohamed Ibrahim said on Sunday that preparations are underway for the celebration of the January 25 uprising anniversary.

Ibrahim stressed that tightened security measures will take place, saying that he would personally supervise securing the celebrations, reported the Middle East News Agency.

The minister called on all political forces to maintain "the peaceful form which had impressed the whole world throughout the days of the revolution."

He added that the police have accumulated enough experience since the beginning of the revolution which enabled them to distinguish peaceful demonstrations from trouble-making riots.

He stressed that any deviation from peaceful acts during the celebrations will be met with strict measures according to the law.
