CAIRO, Oct 10 (Aswat Masriya)- Civil Aviation Minister Hossam Kamal said Friday that the tax increase on airline tickets is within 1 percent of the average value of the ticket.

He said that according to the law no. 46/1978 and its amendments, the tax imposed on airline tickets amounted to EGP 100 for the economy class and EGP 300 for first class.

The presidential decree amended article no.3 of the law increased the tax for economy class ticket by EGP 50 to make it worth EGP 150 instead of EGP 100 and the first class ticket increased by EGP 100 making it EGP 400 instead of EGP 300.
