CAIRO, April 17 (Aswat Masriya) - Presidential candidate Hamdeen Sabahi's campaign said it has collected enough statements of support for Sabahi to officially run for president. 

"We have reached the legal required number of support statements," said Hossam Mo'nes, head of Sabahi's presidential campaign. 

Mo'nes thanked campaign members in all governorates and the Dostour Party youths as well as all national parties that supported the campaign and helped in garnering support for Sabahi.

Sabahi is one of several public figures who have recently announced their bids.

Other figures include former Defence Minister, Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, Zamalek Club President, Mortada Mansour, and radio and television presenter Bothaina Kamel.

Sabahi, a former presidential contender, came third in the 2012 presidential elections.
