CAIRO, Feb 25 (Aswat Masriya) An Egyptian court sentenced three members of the Strong Egypt Party to three years in prison on Tuesday for distributing flyers calling for a “no” vote on January’s constitutional referendum.

The three defendants were arrested in a Cairo neighborhood on January 12 as they distributed the flyers.

They were fined 500 Egyptian pounds each but released the following day while the party boycotted the vote which was held on January 14 and 15.

Strong Egypt was founded by former Muslim Brotherhood member Abdel Moneim Aboul Fotouh who came fourth in 2012's presidential elections.
