Egypt's President Mohamed Mursi will convene on Sunday with his advisors and assistants in a standard meeting, his spokesman said as reported by the Middle East News Agency.

The meeting will mark the second in the past 24-hours to evaluate the latest domestic developments.

Constitutional decrees issued by Mursi on Thursday expanded his authorities which sparked rage amongst his opponents and prompted violent clashes in Cairo and other cities.

Egyptian judges, angered by the decrees which they claimed undermined their judicial authority, announced a strike while Mursi’s opposition called for protests on Tuesday.

Liberal, leftist and socialist forces held mass demonstrations on Friday to express their rejection to the president’s decrees.

Meanwhile, the Muslim Brotherhood has called on its supporters to stage demonstrations on Tuesday to show support for the decrees.
