CAIRO, Feb 21 (Aswat Masriya) - Unknown gunmen killed a national security officer on Saturday in Sharqiya on Saturday, a cabinet statement said.
The incident is the fourth of its kind in Sharqiya within days. Three shootings that occurred last Wednesday and Thursday left one police officer dead and six security personnel injured.
Major Mohamed Eid was shot dead while driving his vehicle in Zagazig city. He was critically injured and later died at the hospital, the statement said.
Security bodies have intensified their efforts to catch the perpetrators, it added.
