Egypt's presidency said on Wednesday it is waiting for the ruling of a Cairo court on the appeal against the prosecutor general's case to take the appropriate legal steps in light of that ruling.
The court ordered earlier today annulling President Mohamed Mursi's decision last November to appoint Judge Talaat Abdallah as the chief prosecutor general and sack his predecessor Abdel Meguid Mahmoud.
The court ruling that removes Talaat from his post can be appealed, the Muslim Brotherhood's Freedom and Justice Party said.
Former prosecutor general Mahmoud told Aswat Masriya in a phone call that he expects the court ruling to be appealed.
