CAIRO, Mar 28 (Aswat Masriya) - The National Coalition for Supporting Legitimacy has called for rallies on Friday to protest Field Marshal Abdel Fattah al-Sisi's declaration of his intention to run for presidency in the upcoming election.

Sisi tendered his resignation on Wednesday and announced he will enter the presidential race in response to the public's demands.

"The fake mask fell off the face of the coup’s leader after he had said he will run for presidency," the alliance said on its Facebook page.

The Islamist alliance, which backs former President Mohamed Mursi, has taken to calling for demonstrations on a weekly basis to protest what they called the "coup against legitimacy", in reference to Mursi's ouster from power last July.

"Let the million-man demonstration on Friday be great and remarkable ... Let all those who are angry gather for a new phase which this nation needs."
