CAIRO, June 29 (Aswat Masriya) An Egyptian court sentenced on Sunday 16 members of the Muslim Brotherhood to three years in prison and acquitted one person, for rioting in Cairo's Heliopolis during the constitutional referendum earlier this year.

Security forces arrested the defendants in Roxy, near the presidential palace, in mid-January on the day of the constitutional referendum for rioting after dispersing them with teargas.

They were accused of grouping, assaulting public and private property, joining an outlawed group and trying to disrupt the vote on the constitution.
