Cairo, Nov 22 (Aswat Masriya) - Army and police forces intensified their presence on roads that link Suez to Sinai to stop elements accused of terrorism from fleeing Sinai, a security source said.

Militants have increased their attacks on military and police targets in North Sinai since President Mohamed Mursi was ousted last July following mass demonstrations against him.

There is heightened security at Ahmed Hamdy Tunnel and ferries that link the Suez Canal's east bank to the west one, the Middle East News Agency quoted the source as saying.

Security forces are co-operating with Bedouin tribes in Sinai and Suez to eliminate terrorism, the source added.

On Wednesday, 11 soldiers were killed and 37 others were injured after a car bomb exploded near North Sinai's Sheikh Zoueid.
