CAIRO, April 15 (Aswat Masriya) Egypt's wheat supply is sufficient to last the country until June 19, the supplies minister said on Tuesday.
Khaled Hanafi said that he expected the local wheat production to reach four million tonnes during a visit to Ismailia.
Egypt, the world's largest importer of wheat, uses around 18 million tonnes annually, buying half the quantity from abroad.
Egypt uses a combination of local and imported wheat to produce subsidised bread, which it sells for five piasters per loaf.
