CAIRO, May 30 (Aswat Masriya) - The legal advisor for Hamdeen Sabahi's presidential campaign said on Friday he will shortly contest the presidential election’s provisional results which reveal Abdel Fattah al-Sisi's sweeping victory.

Lawyer Tarek Negeida told Aswat Masriya he will head to the Presidential Elections Commission's (PEC) headquarters today to file the appeal.

He did not provide more detail.

The deadline for receiving appeals is Friday 30 May at 9 p.m, said Tarek Shebl, a member of the commission's general secretariat.

Appeals can only be filed on Friday due to the one-day extension the commission granted voters, Shebl added.

The PEC is expected to announce the final results the coming Tuesday or Wednesday.
