Egypt halts importing of auto rickshaws “tuk tuks” for a year

CAIRO, Feb 12 (Aswat Masriya) The Egyptian government ordered the finance ministry on Wednesday to halt the importing of motorcycles and auto rickshaws “tuk tuks” for the duration of one year as well as its components for three months pending studies.

The government also asked the interior ministry to enforce harsh regulations on the selling and licensing of new motorcycles, with a grace period of two weeks for current owners.
