CAIRO, Jan 21 (Aswat Masriya) - Deputy police investigations officer, and a conscript were injured in an attack by anonymous gunmen on Saturday in North Sinai, state run news agency MENA reported.

Security source told MENA that the officer and the conscript were transferred to a nearby hospital and their health condition is stable.

The source added that an investigations team was formed to identify the identity of the attackers and arrest them.

Following the ouster of former president Mohamed Mursi, who hailed from the Muslim Brotherhood, the Sinai Peninsula has become a restive area with a number of attacks targeting security personnel, police officer, as well as high-ranking judges.
