CAIRO, Jan 2 (Aswat Masriya) - Former State Council secretary-general Wael Shalaby died in custody on Monday.
Chancellor Khaled Diaa of the Supreme State Security prosecution said in press statements, that Shalaby committed suicide.
However, the prosecution is currently investigating the incident and will disclose further details in an official statement shortly, Diaa added.
Shalaby submitted his resignation few days after another administrative employee has been accused of bribery last week.
Some EGP 24 million and USD 4 million were found in the administrative's home, in addition to 1 million Saudi Riyals, and other belongings of gold and gifts.
Shalaby was arrested on Sunday for interrogations by the Supreme State Security prosecution following preliminary investigation in the case.
