CAIRO, Oct 28 (Aswat Masriya) - A civilian was killed and another injured after a roadside bomb went off on Gesr al-Suez street in the Cairo suburb of Ain Shams, Egypt's interior ministry said on Friday.

The ministry said that the improvised explosive device went off as a security patrol was passing by.

The casualties however did not include any security personnel.

Militancy inside Egypt has seen a significant rise since the military ouster of former president Mohamed Mursi in July 2013, following mass protests against his rule.
