CAIRO, Aug 1 (Aswat Masriya) - Egyptian authorities closed Rafah crossing, which borders the Palestinian Gaza Strip, temporarily on Friday following "intensive" Israeli shelling of Gaza, a security source said.
"The closure has prevented sending aid to Gaza Strip by the Egyptian armed forces or receiving injured Palestinians in Egyptian hospitals," the source told Aswat Masriya.
"The decision was taken after bombs were dropped in close proximity to the crossing," he added.
Israeli forces have resumed military operations in Gaza following the kidnap of one of its soldiers hours after both sides agreed to a humanitarian truce earlier on Friday.
