Defeated presidential candidate Hamdeen Sabahi called on the Arab League on Saturday to hold an emergency summit to confront terror.

On his official Twitter account Sabahi praised the stance of the Saudi and UAE governments in supporting Egypt in its fight against terror.

A wave of violence has swept the country since Wednesday following the state began dispersing protest camps supporting ousted President Mohamed Mursi.
